Cardiorenal syndrome is a condition where acute or chronic dysfunction in one organ induces acute or chronic dysfunction in the other. There are five types of cardiorenal syndrome:
1. Type 1: Acute worsening of heart function leading to acute kidney injury. 2. Type 2: Chronic heart failure leading to progressive chronic kidney disease. 3. Type 3: Acute kidney injury leading to acute heart failure. 4. Type 4: Chronic kidney disease leading to chronic heart failure. 5. Type 5: Systemic conditions like diabetes or sepsis causing both heart and kidney dysfunction.
